Visit http://www.americangeneral.com Atlantic Coast Communications has been performing cable construction, installations, adds, moves, and changes for GA at this twelve story Philadelphia facility as well as for satellite offices within the Greater Philadelphia region since 1987. Presently, Atlantic Coast Communications has a dedicated technician on-site 40 hours per week maintaining the Meridian Option 81 PBX. This dedicated service technician is complemented with wire installation technicians on an as-needed basis.

Some of the larger projects to date include:
  • Installation of approximately 500 Category 3 voice station cables and a complete telephone 3600 pair riser system serving approximately 17 communications IDF locations on 12 floors to coincide with cutover to new PBX services in 1993.
  • The recent design and installation of a multi-mode fiber optic backbone installed by ACC during January 1996 at GA's US Headquarters. This fiber optic backbone solution consists of 258 multi-mode fibers running to approximately 14 closets throughout the building. Our solution facilitated GA's migration to an intelligent hub environment serving approximately 1600 users.
  • The retrofit of new data cable locations with a Category 5 cabling solution to replace (over time) the existing IBM Type One cable presently in place.
  • Completion of station and copper/optical distribution cable between 6 IDF locations on two floors of the Penn Mutual Building, consolidating several site locations within Central Philadelphia in the spring of 1996.
  • 400/414 Walnut Street: Awarded contract for distribution and station cable for voice and data access serving 11 floors for a 300 to 500 person office located adjacent to USA headquarters. Project was completed in September 1997.
  • Installation of an 11-zone public address system to accommodate PA requirements for the 400/414 buildings.
