Visit http://www.einstein.edu Atlantic Coast Communications NJ, Inc. was awarded this project for complete campus rewiring, to include all copper feed and voice/data station cables within this multi-building campus in North Philadelphia. Approximately 12,000 pair of feed cable originates in the new Main Communications Room constructed as part of this project. These 12,000 pairs distribute to approximately 47 IDF locations (IDFs were, for the most part, newly constructed as part of this project) throughout multiple floors of the 12-building complex. 8,500 Category 5 voice and data station cables are also being installed to approximately 3,000 station locations throughout the complex. This project included an extensive 4” conduit system (7,000’) and ladder rack (2,400’) installed throughout all campus buildings. This raceway installation proved very difficult as a result of years of renovations at the facility continually crowding the areas above the suspended ceilings where the conduit and ladder systems were installed. The result of these efforts will yield the customer available raceway for growth well into the future. Upon completion of the infrastructure installation, a new Meridian Option 81 PBX was activated utilizing the new cable plant. This extensive project was completed in only five-months on schedule for the mid-November 1998 PBX cutover.
